KAI Successfully Evacuated 8 Turangga Trains And 6 Greater Bandung Commuterline Units

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) evacuated a former train series that were still at the location of the Train Accident (KKA) between the Turangga train, the Surabaya Gubeng Bandung and the Greater Bandung Commuterline at km 181+700 plots of roads between Haurpugur Station Cicalengka Station.

"Currently, KAI has succeeded in evacuating 8 Turangga train units and 6 Greater Bandung Commuterline trains. So what is still left at the scene is 2 locomotives and 4 train units. KAI together with all stakeholders are trying their best so that the evacuation process can be completed in the not too distant future," said KAI VP Public Relations Joni Martinus in a statement received by VOI, Friday, January 5.

Joni further explained that during the evacuation process, 200 personnel were deployed consisting of KAI, KAI Commuter, BTP for the West Java region of the Ministry of Transportation, Basarnas, and other related Stakeholders.

"KAI also uses heavy equipment in the form of 1 crane, 6 electric jacks, and other heavy equipment supporting equipment. The materials used in the process of repairing the route are 100 rail pads," continued Joni.

Meanwhile, the victim's update in this incident was until 15.00, namely 4 officers died, namely Machinis, Assistant Drivers, Pramugara, and Security.
