Bags Of Halal Certification, ASSA Strengthens Logistics Services Business

JAKARTA PT Adi Sarana Armada Tbk (ASSA) continues to strengthen its logistics business so that it can meet every need for logistics service users.

To serve the needs of companies that require halal logistics services, ASSA has equipped itself with a guarantee of halal certificates.

In this case, a subsidiary of PT Adi Sarana Armada (ASSA Logistics) and PT Adi Sarana Transport (Cargoshare Logistics) has officially obtained halal certification.

As the largest Muslim country in the world, Indonesia faces increasing demand for halal products and services. To ensure the halalness of products end-to-end throughout the supply chain, halal logistics integration is an important necessity.

This includes the implementation of halal practices in production, storage, transportation, and distribution.

Through an integrated halal logistics system, Indonesia aims to ensure convenience and security for Muslim consumers, reduce the risk of contamination, and increase the competitiveness of halal products in the global market.

The President Director of ASSA, Prodjo Sunarjanto, said that with the acquisition of the certificate, halal logistics services have become a separate added value in logistics services provided by ASSA.

"This is part of our consistency to always strive to meet the diverse needs of logistics service customers," he said in his official statement Friday, January 5.

To further increase the enthusiasm of the Anteraja SATRIA (dwarf) in serving customers in a plenary manner, the Company pays attention to various aspects of welfare, including the provision of Umrah.

"On November 23, 2023, Anteraja dispatched 10 SATRIA to go to Umrah. This Umrah Religious Tour to Mecca is a form of appreciation for all SATRIA who have struggled to deliver happiness to customers with a persistent and tireless spirit, and are judged based on SATRIA's productivity from data taken per region," he explained.

Meanwhile, the national logistics industry, based on Ken Research and LPI World Bank, Indonesia is an archipelagic country with around 17,500 islands.

Logistics costs vary by about 23.5 percent of GDP with 87.6 percent of goods shipments made by land.

This country bears high logistics costs for transporting goods. Integrated logistics will be one solution to minimize these costs. Most companies use several logistics providers, which generate higher and unintegrated costs.

Prodjo conveyed that government regulations also support plans to increase inter-island connectivity.

In addition, the logistics industry, which includes express delivery services, is predicted to revive along with the presence of a number of positive catalysts, starting from the re-operation of TikTok Shop in the country's e-commerce competition, an upward trend in demand for goods at the end of the year, the moment of the new year, to the 2024 General Election.

"Research of Google, Temasek, and Bain & Co, predict, transaction value or gross merchandise value (GMV) or the total amount of merchandise sold through e-commerce sites or applications in Indonesia continues to increase from year to year," he said.

Prodjo said, along with the positive trend of national logistics industry, ASSA's efforts to become an end-to-end logistics service provider are increasingly showing sustainable positive developments.

"Efforts to improve profits that are being carried out have shown results in the form of a significant increase in net profit, an increase of up to 3,694.9 percent (QoQ) in the third quarter of 2023," he said.

Prodjo said that ASSA is optimistic that the Company's business will be more solid and prospective in line with the transformation process that is being carried out to become an end-to-end solution provider for all customers ranging from first, mid, to last mile logistics.

As part of the development of the ongoing business transformation process, the Company has strengthened cooperation with the K24 pharmacy network company with a commitment to expand the coverage of the Sameday Delivery delivery area to improve the K24 distribution network.

In addition, ASSA has also collaborated with MOSTRANS, the first digital transportation platform company in Indonesia, to work on pharma delivery.

Through Anteraja's subsidiary, ASSA helps MOSTRANS deliver medicines more quickly and is easier to reach customers by using Anteraja Pharma's last mile delivery service.

Not only at last mile, this kind of cooperation opens up opportunities for the Company to offer end-to-end logistics solutions to all ASSA customers, especially B2B.

ASSA currently has several key business pillars, namely Transportation (Vehicle, Autopool, and Driver), End-to-end Logistics (ASSA Logistics - Cargoshare and Express Delivery (Anteraja) and the Used Vehicle Ecosystem through Auctions (JBA) and Used-to-Offline Car Dealers (Cmen) under the subsidiary PT Autopedia Sukses Lestari Tbk.
