LSI Survey: PDIP, PKB, And Gerindra 'Chast' Electability In East Java

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) stated that the PDI-P (PDIP), the National Awakening Party (PKB), and the Gerindra Party are the three political parties (political parties) with the highest electability for the 2024 General Election in East Java.

"If we use a simulation of the list of 18 party symbols that participated in the 2024 election, then the top three positions are PDIP 22.5 percent, followed by PKB 19.5 percent, and Gerindra 16.9 percent," said LSI Executive Director Djayadi Hanan when presenting the survey results as reported by ANTARA, Friday, January 5.

The Golkar Party and the Democratic Party followed in third and fourth positions, each with an electability of 7.2 percent and 4.6 percent, while other political parties were below 4 percent.

"So, it can be seen here that there are three parties dominated, namely PDIP, PKB, and Gerindra," said Djayadi.

Even so, there were still 16.4 percent of respondents who said they did not know or did not answer.

Next, in the ballot simulation survey, his position did not change. PDIP remains at the top with a support level of 23.3 percent, PKB in second place (20.7 percent) followed by Gerindra (16.6 percent).

The same, number four and five are Golkar followed by Democrats. Other parties are below 4 percent. But there are still many who have not determined or did not answer, namely 12.3 percent," he said.

When compared with the results of the 2019 legislative elections, continued Djayadi, interesting data shows that PDIP, PKB, and Gerindra tend to experience an increase in votes. Meanwhile, other political parties tend to decline.

In my opinion, it is interesting to explain why only these three parties tend to increase their votes. One of the main answers or factors is what we know about the effect of the tail of the suit," he said.

The three political parties have presidential and vice presidential candidates. According to LSI, this is undeniable to affect his electability in East Java.

PDIP, PKB, Gerindra, all three have candidates. PDIP has a presidential candidate. PKB has a vice presidential candidate. Gerindra has a presidential candidate. And we see symptoms of increasing the level of support in East Java for these three parties," he said.

The LSI survey was conducted on December 16-28, 2023. The survey population is all Indonesian citizens in East Java who have the right to vote and the total sample in total is 8,800 respondents.

For selected respondents, face-to-face interviews were conducted by interviewers who had been trained. Error tolerance or margin of error in the range of 1.1 percent at a 95 percent confidence level, assuming strategic random sampling.
