Student Killer Ubaya Angeline Nathania Sentenced To 20 Years In Prison
The panel of judges sentenced the defendant Rochmad Bagus Apriyatna alias Roy to 20 years in prison. Chief Justice I Ketut Kimiarsa, found Roy legally guilty of premeditated murder of a Ubaya student named Angeline Nathania.
"The trial, stated that the defendant Rochmad Bagus Apriyatna alias Roy was legally proven guilty and convincingly guilty of premeditated murder. Freed the second cumulative defendant. Sentenced him to 20 years in prison," said Ketut in a verdict hearing at the Surabaya District Court, Thursday, January 4.
As for the aggravating thing, the defendant Roy was declared very sadistic and disturbing the community because his actions resulted in the victim's death.
The defendant also had a convoluted statement at the trial. "Meanwhile, there are no mitigating factors," he said.

Hearing this, the Public Prosecutor (JPU) Suparlan admitted that he accepted the decision. Likewise with Roy and his lawyer. "Yes, accept it, Your Honor," he said.
Likewise with the victim's family lawyer Mahendra Suhartono, who stated that his client accepted the verdict.
"We respect (the judge's decision), even though the family hopes for a lifetime. Even though it is 20 years, we respect that decision," he said.
