Malaysia Welcomes The Beginning Of Justice Against Israel At The International Court
JAKARTA - Malaysia welcomes the start of the legal process against Israel filed by South Africa at the International Court (ICJ) regarding the 1948 Genocide Convention which involved Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
Malaysia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (KLN) said the South African filing at ICJ also included a desire to establish temporary measures for Israel to immediately stop its military operations in Gaza and protect the rights of the Palestinian people under the Genocide Convention.
The legal process also ensures Israel's compliance with its obligations to comply with the convention.
The action against Israel at the ICJ is the right step to ensure legal accountability for Israel's atrocities in Gaza and the Palestinian Population Area (OPT), according to the statement.
