Closing Doors For Brazil, Ancelotti Retires After Coaching Real Madrid
JAKARTA - Manager Carlo Ancelotti will retire after his contract at Real Madrid expires. The decision to retire and at the same time close the door for Brazil, who hopes to be carpentry by the Italian coach.
Ancelotti has had a very long career as a coach/manager of the club. He also won all the trophies, including the Champions League when he was still a player and coach.
While returning to charge Madrid for the second time, he won La Liga 2022 and Supercopa de Espana 2022.
The success of bringing Los Merengues back to compete at the top has made the club extend its contract.
This contract extension is beyond expectations. The reason is, there is no signal Madrid renewed his contract.
In fact, Ancelotti is reportedly no longer in a harmonious relationship with President Florentino Perez.
The signal that he will be dismissed is even stronger after Madrid has not renewed its contract which ends in June 2024. No wonder Ancelotti is widely said to be dealing with the Brazilian national team.
However, the speculation ended when Madrid extended their contract until 2026. Ancelotti is considered worthy of being the captain of Los Blancos for the next two years.
Not only his performance is slick, but Ancelotti also shows an extraordinary character of the coach. He never complained a bit or complained when the team lost many injured players.
The former AC Milan and Juventus coaches can always maximize the existing players during the limited squad because many are absent.
However, world football will lose one of the best managers. Ancelotti stated that he would retire after his contract in Madrid expires.
The age of getting older is a consideration for the former defense midfielder AS Roma and Milan to retire.
Currently, Ancelotti is 64 years old. If on duty until the end of his contract, Ancelotti's age will be 67 in June 2026.
At a young age, legendary managers, such as Sir Alex Ferguson, Ottmar Hitzfeld, and Vicente del Bosque decided to retire.
Ancelotti himself did not plan to continue coaching at other clubs after Madrid. If Los Blancos want him, he has no objection to staying longer and delaying retirement.
"This will be the end of my job. In 2026 it could be my last year," said Ancelotti.
"However, I could have continued until 2027 and 2028. I like to work in Madrid and it is better to stay at this club if it is extended," he said.
"The reason is, the club also wanted me. This means that my performance is considered good," said Ancelotti, who has handled Chelsea and Everton.
Ancelotti also opened his voice about the offer to coach the Brazilian national team. He said he was honored and proud to receive the offer. However, the move to Brazil depends on the situation in Madrid.
"It all depends on what with Real Madrid. However, in the end I just want to stay here," he said.
