President Jokowi Promises To Continue CBP Food Assistance If The State Budget Is Sufficient

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) promised to continue the government's rice reserve food assistance (CBP) program until June 2024, if the state budget condition is sufficient.

He conveyed this when he visited Bulog Munjung Agung Warehouse, Tegal Regency, Central Java, to ensure that CBP food assistance was distributed properly to beneficiaries.

"Later, if the APBN I see is sufficient, it will be continued to April, May, June, will you agree (no)?," Jokowi said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 3.

On this occasion, the President asked residents whether they had received 10 kilograms of rice each month.

"I want to ask, have everyone got 10 kilos? Have everything been held?" asked the President to the beneficiaries present.

The people who were present at Bulog Munjung Agung Warehouse were additional beneficiaries, who had received the food assistance for the first time.

"The most important thing is that January has been accepted, later it will be received again in February, it will be received again in March," said the President.

People who received assistance were also grateful for the CBP assistance program.

One of the beneficiaries, Zaenal Abidin, said the assistance would be used to help his family.

"This is only the first time, for children. Same for (helping) family," he said
