Senator Bernie Sanders Urges US Congress To Reject Military Aid To Israel
JAKARTA - United States Senator Bernie Sanders urged the US Congress to reject unconditional military aid of 10.1 billion dollars (approximately Rp156.75 trillion) to Israel to continue the " brutal war" against Palestine.
"Let me be clear: THERE is NO longer US funding for the illegal, immoral, brutal, and highly disproportionate war carried out (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu against the Palestinian people," Sanders said on social media platform X as reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Wednesday, January 3.
The US people, he said, must understand that Israel's war on the Palestinian people has been significantly smoothed out with bombs, artillery shells, and other weapons from the US.
"And the result is a big disaster," he said, adding.
"That's enough. Congress must reject the funding. US taxpayers should no longer participate in destroying the lives of innocent men, women and children in Gaza," he stressed.
Israel launched non-stop air and landstrikes in the Palestinian enclave since the Hamas resistance group attacked the Zionist nation on October 7, which Israel says killed nearly 1,200 of its citizens.
