Acting Governor Of West Java Sanctions Members Of Satpol PP In Garut Support Cawapres Not Paid 1-3 Months
JABAR - Acting Governor of West Java (Jabar) Beyvi Machmudin confirmed that he would impose sanctions on members of the Garut Regency Satpol PP who went viral for providing support to one of the vice presidential candidates.
Bey emphasized that state officials must be neutral in a five-year democratic party, to ensure elections run in person, in general, free, secret, honest and fair, in the hope of producing a good leader.
"The Satpol PP is a regional apparatus, the regional apparatus must be neutral. Then (they) have been subject to sanctions, according to the mechanism," said Bey after reviewing Sumedang Hospital, Wednesday, January 3, which was confiscated by Antara.
Bey explained that the Satpol PP officers received different penalties in the form of termination of their salaries, as a sanction and if they returned to action, Bey ensured that there would be a heavier sentence.
"I don't know. But one (person) three months of not getting a salary and the other one month. Later if you do it again, the sanctions can be heavier," he said.
Previously, a 19-second video showing a group of Satpol PP members in Garut who supported the vice presidential candidate number 2, went viral on social media.
In the 19-second video, 13 members of the Garut Satpol PP can be seen conveying the narrative that Indonesia needs young leaders in the future.
Their narrative is led by one person. The video explains that they come from the Civil Service Police Assistance Communication Forum, Garut Regency.

Other members then followed the narrative that was conveyed at the end of the sentence, then they raised a photo of the vice presidential candidate number two, Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
"Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. We from the Garut Regency Civil Service Police Assistance Communication Forum state that Indonesia needs young leaders in the future. Mas Gibran Rakabuming Raka, thank you," he said.
It is known that ASN, TNI, Polri including Satpol PP officers must be neutral in elections.
This is regulated in Law No. 5 of 2014 concerning State Civil Apparatus, which reads: One of the principles of implementing ASN policies and management is "neutrality".
This principle of neutrality means that every ASN employee does not take sides with any form of influence and does not side with anyone's interests.
In addition, the rules for civil servants are also prohibited from providing support or carrying out activities that lead to practical politics in the Pilkada/Pileg/Pilpres contestation as stated in Government Regulation no. 53 of 2010 concerning Civil Servant Discipline and Government Regulation no. 42 of 2004 Corps Mental Development and Civil Servant Code of Ethics.
Regarding this issue, the Regional Winning Team (TPD) Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD of West Java Province reported allegations of neutrality in a number of state officials in Garut Regency to West Java Bawaslu on Wednesday, January 3.
