Had A Great Burn, Plumpang Fuel Terminal Improved And Will Move To Reclamation Area
JAKARTA - Plumpang BBM Terminal (TBB), Priok, North Jakarta was in the public spotlight because of the intense fire that spread to residential areas on March 3, 2023. Now, PT Pertamina (Persero) has cleaned up by making a series of changes to Plumpang TBBM.
Deputy Minister of SOEs Kartika Wirjoatmodjo said Pertamina had made improvements to safety or security at TBBM Plumpang. Starting from installing additional facilities to installing automatic outage systems.
This was conveyed by Kartika Wirjoatmodjo when directly reviewing the readiness of the Integrated Terminal Jakarta (ITJ) in Plumpang, Tanjung Priok in securing energy distribution today.
"For safety repairs, there is material for preparation. Then there is a switch installed so it automatically turns off, so there won't be another overflow. Also, we increase the fence. Digitalization, so that disturbances can be properly intervened," he said at TBBM Plumpang, North Jakarta, Friday, December 29.
"Then with DKI's cooperation about this fire drill. So that there is an incident the early warning system can go well," he continued.
In addition, Tiko, Kartika Wirjoatmodjo's nickname, said Pertamina was also making improvements in terms of asset acceleration and rejuvenation.
"So that it makes improvements and rejuvenations gradually. In the future it will be better," he explained.
In addition, Tiko also encouraged Pertamina's plan to build an environmentally friendly and most advanced energy terminal in Indonesia, namely the Jakarta Integrated Green Terminal (JIGT). This JIGT will be built in the Kalibaru area by PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) and PT Pelindo (Persero).
"In the long term, Pertamina will gradually relocate (TBBM Plumpang) into the reclamation area in Kalibaru. This area will become an energy hub for fuel and other energy in the Jabodetabek area," he said.

Meanwhile, President Director of PT Pertamina International Shipping Yoki Firnandi emphasized that the progress of JIGT development continues with a number of developments.
"All progress is still on track, if there are no obstacles at the end of next year we can start the project," he said.
For your information, JIGT is Pertamina's commitment in the energy transition, where later JIGT will not only accommodate fuel, such as LPG, BBM, Gasoline, and Biodiesel. However, it is also designed to be able to accommodate LNG (liquid natural gas), CPO (oil palm oil), UCO (Used Cooking Oil), petrochemicals, and hydrogen.
