The Ministry Of Industry Targets The Growth Of The Processing Industry To Reach 5.80 Percent In 2024
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) targets the growth of the non-oil and gas processing sector to reach 5.80 percent by 2024.
Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said the figure was quite aggressive.
Therefore, all levels of the Ministry of Industry are expected to work together to make this happen in order to accelerate Indonesia Gold 2045.
"I have to tell my office friends this is a very aggressive figure, considering that the industrial sector continues to be the main driver of the national economy in the midst of efforts to recover the economy and accelerate steps to go to Indonesia Gold 2045," said Minister of Industry Agus in a year-end media meeting monitored online, Thursday, December 28.
Agus said, to reach 5.80 percent in 2024, his party has set a target in every ministry directorate.
For the Directorate General of Agro Industry, the growth target is 6.14 percent, the Directorate of Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Textile Industries (IKFT) 4.76 percent, the Directorate General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation and Electronics Industry (Ilmate) 6.87 percent and the Directorate of Small and Medium Industries (Ikma) 4.25 percent.
The Ministry of Industry is also targeting the contribution of Gross Domestic Revenue (GDP) to the national GDP of 17.90 percent by 2024.
The investment value of the non-oil and gas processing sector is targeted at IDR 630.57 trillion and the export value of non-oil and gas processing industry products reaches US$186.40 billion.

In terms of employment in the non-oil and gas processing industry sector, it is targeted to reach 20.33 million people by 2024.
Agus said that the 2024 target was the result of a review of the 2020-2024 Ministry of Industry's Strategic Plan (Renstra) by looking at the realization until 2023.
"The performance trend of the non-oil and gas processing industry is experiencing an increase, especially in the third quarter of 2023. Industry sub-sectors whose growth has increased in 2023 include the metal, computer, electronic and optical goods industry, the basic metal industry and the transportation industry," he said.
