Not Only Allegations Of Extortion, Polda Metro Will Investigate TPPU Firli Bahuri

JAKARTA - The handling of the alleged extortion case against the former Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, with the suspect Firli Bahuri is said to be developing.

This is because Polda Metro Jaya will investigate the alleged money laundering crime (TPPU) committed by the inactive KPK chairman.

"Including one of the things that we will target related to the crime of money laundering," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak, to reporters, Thursday, December 28.

However, no further details regarding the steps that have been or will be taken regarding this matter.

Ade only emphasized that the investigation into the alleged money laundering offense was one of the next investigation agendas after the alleged extortion.

"Regarding the crime of money laundering, it will be one of the investigation agendas of the joint investigation team," said Ade.

Previously, the handling of Firli Bahuri's case was mentioned by the Head of Metro Jaya Police, Inspector General Karyoto. Karyoto said that Firli Bahuri's detention was easy but needed careful tactics and strategies. Moreover, in the case that named Firli Bahuri as a suspect, it is considered that he will develop.

"To detain that person, we have tactics and strategies, because this seems to be a developing case," said Karyoto.

Previously, Firli Bahuri had also been investigated regarding assets that were not registered with the State Officials Wealth Report (LHKPN) on December 27.

"In the examination or request for additional information against the suspect today, investigators asked 22 questions to the suspect FB," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko.

Dozens of questions, said Trunoyudo, were about assets whose holdings used the personal names, wives, children and families of Firli Bahuri which were not reported in the LHKPN. The assets are spread across several parts of Indonesia.

"Among them are assets located in Yogyakarta (Battul and Sleman), Sukabumi, Bogor, Bekasi and Jakarta," said Trunoyudo.
