Hybrid Cars Are Increasingly Interested In Indonesia, Here's The Proof

JAKARTA - Environmentally friendly vehicles continue to be asked in the country. Not only Honda was successful with the latest CR-V Hybrid data shared by PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) also received a positive trend.

Recent records show that Suzuki can print an increase in hybrid car sales by 21 percent when compared to the previous month. This increase was obtained from the accumulated sales of 3 Suzuki hybrid vehicles, namely All New Ertiga Hybrid, Grand Vitara, and New XL7 Hybrid with a dominance of 49% of total passenger car sales in November 2023.

According to Randy R. Murdoko, Asst. to Dept. Head of 4W Sales of PT SIS, the increase in sales of hybrid vehicles is supported by public trust in the advantages and performance of environmentally friendly vehicles presented by Suzuki.

"From this figure, we see that people's orientation is slowly changing, which currently cares more about the importance of using environmentally friendly vehicles," he said in an official statement received on Thursday, December 28.

If you map the distribution of sales of Suzuki hybrid vehicles in Indonesia, the Suzuki hybrid sales market is still dominated by Java Island. Jabodetabek itself became the area that contributed the highest at 48 percent, followed by the East Java region with a contribution of 15 percent, followed by Central Java at 7 percent and West Java at 6 percent.

As for provinces outside Java, which are currently also starting to adopt trends of environmentally friendly vehicles originating from the provinces of Bali and East Kalimantan. The spread in these areas is a reflection of the agile capability of Suzuki's hybrid cars being used in diverse geographical conditions.

The condition of Suzuki's sales in November 2023 brings a balanced sales comparison between a passenger car of 50.1 percent and 49.9 percent for a commercial car.

Carrying on the commitment to produce more environmentally friendly vehicles, Suzuki started its steps by combining conventional machines and SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) technology on several vehicles such as All New Ertiga Hybrid, Grand Vitara, and New XL7 Hybrid. Proudly, two of the three hybrid vehicles marketed by Suzuki are the result of domestic production.

It was recorded that in November 2023, 90 percent of hybrid car sales were the result of local production or made by the Suzuki factory in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java. This step is a manifestation of Suzuki's competence and seriousness in producing environmentally friendly vehicles, which are of high quality but can be easily reached by the wider community.

"Of course we will also continue to strive to create a better environment and low-emission vehicles in the future by reaching a wider area so that we can slowly switch to hybrid vehicles and also apply Eco-Driving driving style," concluded Randy.
