PENAJAM - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) provided Rp10,068,197,000 for the relocation of the Waru People's Market located in Waru District, North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan.
"Waru People's Market relocation assistance from the Head of State will be disbursed next year (2024)," said Penajam Paser Utara Regent Makmur Marbun as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 27.
The provision of assistance is a proposal submitted by the district government, he explained, when President Jokowi visited the Waru People's Paser on December 21.
During the visit, the Head of State greeted the market traders directly, while distributing t-shirts and assistance in the form of basic necessities and cash for capital assistance, then buying goods sold by one of the traders.
President Jokowi also checks food commodities such as chilies, shallots, garlic, vegetables, and so on, as well as rice commodity prices.
The Head of State also immediately looked at the condition of the Waru People's Market, and asked that the market be built immediately with the budget given.
The assistance provided by President Jokowi has been processed by the Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg). According to Makmur, it was Rp. 10,068,197,000 and the work was carried out in January 2024.
The North Penajam Paser Regency Government is following up on the assistance of the Head of State by collecting relevant Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) to discuss the implementation of the relocation and construction of the Waru Main Market.
