Amazon Prime Video Will Start Featuring Ads In January 2024

JAKARTA - Amazon has confirmed via email to Prime members that Amazon Prime Video will start displaying ads alongside content, unless customers pay extra fees starting January 2024.

We wrote a letter to you today about the upcoming changes to your Prime Video experience. Starting January 29, Prime Video movies and TV shows will include limited ads, "the contents of the email, citing 9to5Google.

For your information, Amazon Prime Video is the advantage of the entire Prime subscription, which offers free shipments from Amazon.

The company says that the emergence of these ads will allow them to continue investing in interesting content and continue to increase these investments over a long period of time.

We aim to have far fewer ads than linear TV and other TV streaming providers. You don't have to take any action, and there's no change to your current Prime membership price."

Starting today, Amazon has also opened a pre-order for ad-free subscriptions. Through Amazon's website, customers can first register for a subscription at a price of 2.99 US dollars (Rp46 thousand) per month.
