Fellow NU Residents, Gus Yahya's Doubles Style Is Considered Unethical

JAKARTA - The Anies-Muhaimin pair National Team (Timnas AMIN) also responded to the joke of PBNU General Chair Yahya Cholil Staquf (Gus Yahya) regarding the vice presidential candidate Muhaimin Iskandar who will not win the 2024 presidential election.

"It is unethical for fellow NU cadres to state that Muhaimin did not win the presidential election. What's more, the statement was stated in public and Muhaimin was present at the event," said AMIN national team co-captain Muhammad Azrul Tanjung in a written statement in Jakarta, Tuesday, December 26.

He considered that as fellow NU cadres, they should respect each other, even though there are different choices in the election. According to him, differences are common, especially in a democratic country.

"For us, the important thing is to strive and do the best for the nation and state. We believe that every day there will be more views that changes are needed. Large mass organizations such as Muhammadiyah and NU will mostly support AMIN in this presidential election," he asserted.

Previously, while attending Haul Al Munawwir at the Krapyak Islamic Boarding School, Yogyakarta, Gus Yahya said he was very grateful to see Cak Imin take part in the Haul Almunawir Ponpes Krapyak.

Gus Yahya said that Cak Imin's arrival in the haul could make the vice presidential candidate pair number one istiqomah participate in haul activities.

"Hopefully after this Istiqomah will continue to be present, although it may not win. But still come in Haul Munawwir," he joked.
