MMSGI Subsidiary Supports IKN Authority In Development Of Tropical Rainy Forest Miniatures Of The Archipelago

JAKARTA - The capital city of Nusantara (IKN) is designed to become a sustainable forest city that has the target of the first city of zero emissions in Indonesia by 2045. This certainly requires strong collaboration and full support from various parties, ranging from state civil servants, community institutions, development partners, to private companies.

IKN in early December 2023 released Nusantara's Net Zero Emission Strategy, a document showing the city's commitment to take part in global efforts to accelerate climate action.

IKN is the first city in Indonesia to have Regionally and Locally Determined Contribution RLDC as a guide to become a model for green and sustainable cities in the future.

Meanwhile, IKN is a sustainable city and a green innovation center that focuses on reducing carbon emissions.

The IKN Authority (OIKN) through the Deputy for Environment and Natural Resources together with other supporting partners carried out the transformation of Industrial Plant Forests (HTI) into tropical rainforests in realizing the sustainable forest city of IKN.

This agenda is part of the IKN development principle which is designed to have a capacity of more than 65 percent of tropical forest areas.

The IKN reforestation program is marked by the construction of Tropical Rain Forest Miniatures on an area of 97 Ha consisting of tropical rainforest areas, Gallery houses, forest parks and other supporting areas.

As part of the involvement of the government and the private sector, the construction of Tropical Rain Forest Miniatures was carried out by 3 companies that paid special attention to the preservation of nature and biodiversity as well as sustainable development, namely PT Multi Harapan Utama (MHU), PT Tirta Investama (Danone) and PT Indo Tambangraya Megah (ITM) and Mulawarman University (Unmul).

The construction of this project began with the Groundbreaking of the Nusantara Tropical Rain Forest Miniature which was held in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) Sub-WP 1A on Wednesday (20/12/2023). The series of events began with visits to Gallery Houses, program presentations and planting symbolic trees.

Angga usaha MMS Group Indonesia (MMSGI), yaitu MHU turut mengembangkan 30 Ha area Miniatur Hutan Hujan Tropis. Selain itu, MHU turut berpartisan membangun kawasan Hutan Lindung seluas 1,000 Ha.

For information, smart wooden houses using solar cells in the Gallery House area are the work of Idea Borneo, MHU MSME Development Partner involving Ring 1 MHU villagers.

MHU's participation is a tangible manifestation of the implementation of the Company's value which was derived from MMSGI as the parent company. This opportunity is a proud moment where the Company can contribute to the government landmark program for greener Indonesia.

Faiz this step is also in line with the principle of holding an MMSGI company. In addition to planting in tropical rainforest areas, smart wooden houses in the Gallery House area were also built by local MSMEs fostered by MHU.
