Last year, the number of passengers during the Christmas and New Year periods was 600,000 people. Currently, it is estimated that it can reach around 700,000 people. "During this holiday, I ask PT KAI and the Director General of KA to carry out a collaborative activity because what we are going to do is serve the community. The President gave us notes to the ministers to carry out Christmas and New Year activities safely and comfortably," he said.

Budi Karya expressed his gratitude to KAI, TNI/Polri as well as all stakeholders in the railway sector who have collaborated to launch community travel during the Christmas and New Year period.

Head of PT KAI Daop I Jakarta Iwan Eka Saputra said train passengers in the Daop I area this year are estimated to increase by about 20 percent compared to last year. Economic train passengers dominate their occupancy per day.

"As directed by the Minister of Transportation, we will pay attention to the aspects of service, safety and security of the passengers," he said.

For the Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024 periods, PT KAI Daop I Jakarta provides 1,319 train trips (KA) or around 73 train trips per day. Additional train trips are provided as many as 184 trains or about 10 additional train trips per day.
