2023 Christmas Holiday, Aviation Productivity At Soekarno-Hatta Airport Up 18 Percent
JAKARTA The Minister of Transportation (Menhub), Budi Karya Sumadi, admitted that he was happy because flight productivity at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten, during the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year holidays increased compared to last year.
Based on data from Angkasa Pura II, Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Christmas and New Year's transportation this year has served approximately 1 million passengers, or an increase of 18 percent from last year.
For the most international destinations, namely serving in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Jeddah. Meanwhile, the most domestic destinations are to the cities of Denpasar, Medan, and Surabaya.
The Soekarno-Hatta Airport's on-time performance rate is in the range of 71 percent and the load factor (ocuption rate) reaches 80 percent.
"This indicates that the performance of the aviation sector is getting better, the probability is increasing. It is also seen that the number of cargo coming in and out of Soekarno-Hatta is increasing," he said in an official statement, Sunday, December 24, 2023.
Budi assessed that the good performance of the aviation sector was the impact of improving the community's economy, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic.

During this visit to Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Budi also carried out a ramp check on Garuda Indonesia aircraft.
Budi said that based on data from Otban Region I, the plane that had been ramp checked was 60 percent.
"I'm here to see how many planes have ramped checks to ensure the aircraft's feasibility for the safety and security of flights," he said.
For your information, the peak of the Christmas homecoming flow has occurred on December 22, 2023, with a total of 184,000 passengers.
The peak of the New Year's homecoming is predicted to be on December 29, 2023, with an estimated 180,000 passengers. Meanwhile, the peak of backflow is predicted to fall on January 2, 2024.
