National Team Increases Training Intensity In Turkey, Marselino Ferdinand Joins Again After Injury

The Indonesian national team increased the intensity of the exercise on the second day of the training camp (TC) in Antalya, Turkey, Friday 22 December. The Indonesian national team started training with a gym exercise to strengthen muscles in the morning at the hotel where they were staying. In the afternoon at 16.00 local time, Garuda trained in the field for two hours directly led by coach Shin Tae-yong, the exercise began with a slight stretching and understanding. The weather is a bit cold, so it is in adaptation too. Today's exercise is indeed focused on (body) player balance and anticipation in the match later, so skill training and control exercises too," explained Shin Tae-yong, launching from PSSI's official website, Saturday. On the same occasion, one of the 28 players brought by TC Shin, namely Marselino Ferdinand, admitted that he was very enthusiastic about participating in the TC in Turkey for preparations for the 2023 Asian Cup which took place from 12 January to 10 February 2024. Marselino was enthusiastic because he was finally able to rejoin the Red and White squad after several months of absence due to injury.

"Praise God, my condition is extraordinary, very excited to join the National Team, I hope the conditions will get better and better every day. I am sure and also pray that it will be far from injury again and the important thing is that it can help the team and be able to return the team to make it very happy," said Marselino. During the TC in Turkey, Indonesia will play two test parties, namely against Libya on January 2 and 5, 2024. TC ends on January 6, 2024 and Indonesia will fly to Qatar. There, Indonesia will play one last test match against Iran on January 9. Indonesia joined in Group D of the 2023 Asian Cup with Vietnam, Iraq, and Japan. Red and White will play their first match against Iraq at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium, Al Rayyan on January 15, 2024.
