Netizens Asked Not To Dam Up Athletes At The 2024 Paris Olympics

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (NOC), Raja Sapta Oktohari, asked netizens not to bully athletes who are ready and will appear at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

This was stated by Okto, as he is known, in a sharing session themed "Building Spirit Olympism for Pontianak Youth" which took place in Pontianak, Wednesday, December 20, 2023.

Okto said athletes who are struggling to qualify and are sure to appear at the Olympic level usually get different pressure. Therefore, whatever results are obtained should be appreciated.

"Don't bully athletes! I often read comments on social media, comment on athletes with negative things. Many people really know the results, but in sports everything needs a process," said Okto.

The 2024 Paris Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024. Indonesia already has five tickets to the world's most prestigious four-year multi-pronged.

The five tickets were obtained by FARmers Arif Dwi Pangestu and Diananda Choirunisa, artistic gymnasts Rifda Irfanaluthfi, and rock climbing athletes Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi and Rahmad Adi Mulyono.

The last two sports is the first time Red-White has a representative at the Olympics.

"For the 2024 Paris Olympics, the Indonesian Team has passed five athletes. God willing, there could be more because the qualifications will still last until mid-2024," said Okto.

Indonesia's chances of adding representatives at the 2024 Paris Olympics are still open. The reason is, there are still many qualifications to be carried out, including in Indonesia early tomorrow.

The qualifications in question are the Asian Shooting Championships rifle & pistol on January 5-18, 2024 and the Indonesian Masters badminton which will be held on January 23-28, 2023.
