Bawaslu Gives Witness Training Participants In The 2024 Election
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) provides training on the mechanisms, duties and obligations of witnesses participating in the 2024 General Election who are on duty on voting day.
Chairman of the DKI Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU) Wisnu Dinata who was invited by Bawaslu as a speaker said the socialization was intended so that witnesses would understand the tasks that must be carried out on election voting day on February 14, 2024.
"Yes, earlier I explained how the mechanism was on voting day. For example, when witnesses had to come to the TPS, the rights and obligations of witnesses and things that witnesses needed to avoid," Wahyu said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, December 21.
The witness that Wahyu is referring to is the device participating in the election that will oversee the election.
"The witness is the role of the election participant to oversee the voting process. The witness can be from winning the presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs, it can be individuals from the DPD (Regional Representative Council), it can be from political party election participants," he said.
One of the materials provided is regarding the witness' obligation to arrive on time at the polling station (TPS). "The witness must come before the TPS is opened," said Wahyu.

In addition, it is also the duty of the witness to take care of moving to choose when his name is not registered with the TPS where he is on duty.
"If there are witnesses who are not registered at the TPS when they are on duty, please immediately move to vote. That's what we convey," said Wahyu.
The activity was attended by 150 participants consisting of representatives of political parties participating in the election, liaisons (LO) presidential and vice presidential candidates, representatives of DPD candidates, media, and several other categories of participants.
