Back To The Future Film Car Designer Calls Tesla Cybertruck A Picasso World Automotive
JAKARTA - Giorgetto Giugiaro, an iconic designer from DeLorean who is famous for the film "Back to the Future," called Tesla Cybertruck an automotive masterpiece.
During his lifetime, Giorgetto Giugiaro had worked on popular supercar designs and everyday vehicles. In addition to cars, Giugiaro was also known as a design designer of the Nikon camera body to design several watch models for Seiko. In fact, because of his talent particularly in the automotive field, Giugiaro was named Car Designer of the Century in 1999 and was inducted into the Hall of Fame Automotive in 2002. Of course his praise for Tesla Cybertruck is something he likes.
In an interview with the Italian newspaper la Repubblica, reported by Business Insider, December 20, the Italian designer praised Cybertruck as "Picosso automotive" and expressed his belief that the vehicle would be a huge success because people wanted to look different.
Tesla Cybertruck has been a major concern since its launch as the first vehicle to use stainless steel since Giugiaro's DeLorean. It is known, DeLorean, which appeared in the series of "Back to the Future," was launched in the 80s.
Giugiaro added that the Cybertruck does not represent a search for harmony and perfection, but seeks emotion and solidity.
This is not the first time Giugiaro has praised Cybertruck. Earlier, in an interview with NPR last month, he expressed confidence that this truck would be successful, although at that time he was reluctant to say whether he liked it or not.
"Everyone wants to differentiate themselves. This is a market requirement, and the Cybertruck will be a success, I'm sure it will. I'm sure I'll find the fans," added Giugiaro, who is now 85 years old.

Support from Giugiaro certainly makes Tesla and its CEO Elon Musk very happy. DeLorean made him one of the design inspirations for Cybertruck, according to Walter Isaacson's biography of Musk.
Musk himself has big plans for a Cybertruck, as can be seen from his posts on social media. On Monday, December 18, Musk stated that Tesla would launch a "modified package" that would allow the Cybertruck to function as a boat.
"We will offer a modified package that will allow the Cybertruck to pass at least 100 meters of water as a boat," Musk wrote on platform X.
