Rainy Season But Forest And Land Fire Potential In East Kalimantan Is Still High, BMKG Recently Detects 31 Hotspots
KALTIM - Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) stations in Balikpapan detected 31 hotspots appearing in East Kalimantan (Kaltim) throughout Wednesday, December 20.

Prevention that can be done by the community, among others, does not throw cigarette butts carelessly and does not burn when clearing or clearing land, because dry leaves and twigs are prone to spreading wider fires.
Diyan admitted that it has entered the rainy season. However, the potential for forest and land fires is still high in East Kalimantan because the intensity of low rain causes leaves and twigs to dry up easily.
"A total of 31 hotspots observed yesterday were spread across four districts, namely West Kutai (2), East Kutai (7), Kutai Kartanegara (1), and Berau Regency (21)," said Diyan.

As for the details per sub-district for 31 hotspots on Wednesday, December 20, two of them were detected in West Kutai, both of which were in Bongan District.
Then, in East Kutai Regency there are seven points, all of them are in Bengalon District, and Kutai Kartanegara is in Muara Wis District.
"In Berau Regency, 21 hotspots were detected, spread over seven sub-districts, namely Mount Tabur (1), Derawan Island (1), Sambaliung (10), Sengah (6), Tabalar (1), Talisingin (1), and Teluk Batur District one point," said Diyan.
