Losing Against Bologna, Indonesia's Bloody Goalkeeper Failed To Qualify Inter For The Coppa Italia Quarter-finals
JAKARTA - Indonesian goalkeeper Emil Audero Mulyadi failed to qualify Inter Milan for the Coppa Italia quarter-finals. In the duel in the round of 16 against Bologna at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, Thursday, December 21 in the morning WIB, Inter were forced to surrender 2-1 through extra time.
Audero was again standing under the bar replacing Yan Sommer, who this time was being benched. Despite showing a non-disappointing performance, the Mataram-born goalkeeper, NTB, failed to pass Inter to the next round.
The result thwarted Inter's ambition to score a hat trick for the Coppa Italia champion. Previously, I Nerazzurri won the trophy twice in a row in 2022 and 2023.
Meanwhile, Bologna's success in staying in the Coppa Italia shows their consistency. Bologna itself set an unbeaten record for the last five matches in various competitions.
Including in the previous match when they beat AS Roma 2-0 in the Italian Serie A competition. The victory led I Rossoblu to fourth place as well as into the Champions League zone.
In that match, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi did not field the best squad. Apart from Audero who was standing under the bar, Lautaro Martinez's captain also did not have a duet with Marco Thuram. Thuram's position was replaced by former Bologna striker Marko Arnautovic.
Arnautovic was also the first to threaten the visitors' goal in the first minute. Furthermore, goalkeeper Federico Ravaglia thwarted Dutch midfielder Davy Klaassen's volley.
Ravaglia showed brilliant performance by thwarting the threat from Davide Frattesi. Martinez's penalty peak also failed because of him.
Inter were awarded a penalty as Bologna defender Tommoso Corazza hit the ball while jumping for an aerial duel.
After reviewing the incident via VAR, the referee set a penalty. It's just that Martinez failed to maximize the golden opportunity.
The score did not change until the end of the first half. Likewise in the next 45 minutes, Inter and Bologna were unable to score.
The match continued with extra time. This is the fourth time, Inter have to finish the last 16 through extra time.
Inter started well after midfielder Carlos Augusto scored a goal in just two minutes. His header which welcomed Federico Dimarco's corner managed to break into Bologna's goal.
It's just that even though he's 1-0 behind, Bologna continues to play attacking. They try to catch up.
Moreover, Inter already lost Martinez who was pulled out after undergoing treatment on the thigh. He was later replaced by Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The patience of the Bologn players turned out to be fruitful. In the 112nd minute, defender Sam Beukema managed to beat Audero. The goal started with Joshua Zirkzee's back-heel bait which was completed through Beukema's volley.

The score changed 1-1 and made Bologna more aggressive. Their efforts were not in vain. Just four minutes later, Zirkzee again made the maximum completed assist by Dan Ndoye.
The goal came after Ndoye, who ran to greet Zirkzee's pass, fired a ball to outwit Audero. The reason is, the goalkeeper from Sampdoria has already left the net to close Ndoye's room.
The score became 2-1 for Bologna and the match ended. The success led I Veltri to meet Fiorentina in the quarter-finals. Fiorentina herself eliminated Serie B Parma's team on penalties.
