Christmas-New Year Holidays, Toll Managers Anticipate Density At Boyolali And Bawen Gates

PT Trans Marga Central Java as the manager of the Semarang-Solo toll road anticipates a surge in vehicle flows during the Christmas and New Year holidays at two toll exits, namely the Boyolali and Bawen toll gates.

"There are two exits that require more intense attention and handling," said President Director of PT Trans Marga Central Java Prajudi during the preparations for the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year holidays in Semarang as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 20.

According to him, the Boyolali toll gate is relatively small because it only has four substations to serve vehicles that will enter or leave.

"This condition needs to be anticipated. From past experience, it needs more intense handling," he added.

Meanwhile, for the Bawen toll gate, he said, although the number of substations is relatively large, there is work on the Bawen-Yogyakarta toll road at the end of the entrance to the route.

According to him, these conditions also need attention and preparation of traffic engineering to anticipate potential congestion.

"One of the traffic engineering that has been prepared is the diversion of the flow of vehicles that will exit through the Salatiga toll gate," he said.

Prajudi explained that the number of vehicles that will pass on the Semarang-Solo toll road during the Christmas and New Year holidays is estimated to reach 1.3 million vehicles.

The peak of vehicles passing from Semarang to Solo before the Christmas holiday is expected to occur on December 23, 2023, while before the new year on December 29, 2023.

Meanwhile, the flow of vehicles returning to the western region is expected to occur on December 26, 2023, and January 2, 2024.

In general, he continued, the Semarang-Solo toll road manager is ready to face a surge in vehicle flow during the year-end holidays through various traffic engineering prepared by the police.

Therefore, he asked toll road users to prepare physical, vehicle, and electronic money filling so as not to cause disturbances to the smooth flow of traffic on these expressways.
