Central Java Police Urges People To Beware Of Fraud Modes To Claim To Be Police Officials

The Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Kombespol Satake Bayu S, again appealed to the public to be careful of the mode of fraud on behalf of someone or an official who asks for some money.

"This is rampant, especially when irresponsible people know that there is a change of officials in an agency, especially in the Central Java Regional Police. Potential victims will be contacted by telephone or text message, using the names of officials," said Kombespol Satake Bayu, in a short message, Wednesday, December 20.

The Head of Public Relations said that recently the Central Java Police had a rotation of leadership starting from the position of Deputy Chief of Police, Director and several Police Chiefs.

Therefore, he asked the public not to easily believe if there were people who contacted either directly by telephone or via text message and claimed to be police officers from the main level, Polda, Polres or Polsek to ask for a sum of money or goods for a number of reasons.

"To the public not to easily believe the actions carried out by these individuals, if this happens, we ask that people do not have to believe and do not need to be responded to," he concluded.
