Jasa Marga Records 156 Thousand Vehicles Leaving Jabotabek On D-7 Christmas Holiday 2023

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk (JSMR) noted, as many as 156,080 vehicles have left the Jabotabek area on D-7 Christmas Day 2023 which falls in the period Monday, December 18, 2023.

This number is the cumulative number of traffic flows (traffic) from the four Barrier / Main Toll Gates (GT), namely GT Cikupa (towards Merak), GT Ciawi (towards Puncak), and GT Cikampek Utama (towards Trans Java) and GT Kalihurip Utama (towards Bandung).

"The total volume of traffic leaving the Jabotabek area increased by 18.31 percent when compared to normal traffic, namely 131,920 vehicles in the same period. When compared to the 2022 Christmas period, the total volume of this traffic increased by 8.51 percent or as many as 143,844 vehicles," said Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head Lisye Octaviana in her official statement, quoted Wednesday, December 20.

For the distribution of traffic leaving Jabotabek towards all three directions, the majority were 65,090 vehicles or 41.70 percent headed East (Trans Java and Bandung), 53,560 vehicles or 34.32 percent headed West (Merak), and 37,430 vehicles or reached 23.98 percent headed South (Puncak).

The details of the traffic distribution are as follows:

1. East (Trans Java & Bandung)

- Traffic leaving Jabotabek heading towards Trans Java via GT Cikampek Utama Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, with a total of 31,870 vehicles, an increase of 23.07 percent from normal traffic.

- Traffic leaving Jabotabek heading towards Bandung via GT Kalihurip Utama Cipularang Toll Road, with a total of 33,220 vehicles, an increase of 19.38 percent from normal traffic.

"So, the total traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Trans Java and Bandung through the two GTs was 65,090 vehicles, an increase of 21.16 percent from normal traffic," said Lisye.

2. West (Merak) direction

Traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Merak via GT Cikupa Tangerang-Merak Toll Road is 53,560 vehicles, an increase of up to 15.22 percent from normal traffic.

3. South (Puncak) direction

Meanwhile, the number of vehicles leaving Jabotabek heading towards Puncak via GT Ciawi Jagorawi Toll Road was 37,430 vehicles, an increase of 18.03 percent from normal traffic.

Jasa Marga appealed to toll road users to anticipate the journey of the 2023 Christmas holiday period well.

Before entering the toll road, make sure the vehicle and driver are in top condition, adhere to health protocols (using masks) while in the rest area, ensure the adequacy of fuel and electronic money balances and comply with signs and directions from officers in the field.
