Two Youth Groups Carrying Tenggulun Clash With Grass Market Residents

JAKARTA - A brawl between two groups of teenagers from Menteng Tenggulun, Central Jakarta and the youth group Pasar Rumput occurred on Jalan Sultan Agung, Setiabudi, South Jakarta.

The two groups of perpetrators sold attacks using various sharp weapons, bamboo, bottles of beling to firecrackers.

As is known, in the Menteng Tenggulun area, residents' brawls occurred for two consecutive days.

As a result of this incident, 12 suspected brawlers were arrested and taken to the Central Jakarta Police Headquarters.

In order to anticipate further clashes, the Central Jakarta City Government through Menteng District together with the Central Jakarta Metro Police established a guard post in the Menteng Tenggulun area, Central Jakarta. The establishment of this post is to ensure that there are joint officers on standby in the area.

"So some people have felt uneasy about the brawl, so we will establish the guard post," said the Menteng sub-district head when confirmed, Tuesday, December 19.

Suprayogi said that the establishment of this post was a request from the public who were worried about a brawl in the area. After seeing the conditions, it was later strengthened by a brawl, so that the establishment of the post could be said to be urgent.

Meanwhile, the Menteng Metro Police Chief, Kompol Bayu, said that regarding the personnel on standby at the post, Bayu could not provide certainty. The reason is that this is still waiting for an order from the Central Jakarta Metro Police.

"We always collaborate with related ranks, especially for issues of public safety and comfort," he said.
