SURABAYA - Juanda International Airport Surabaya opened a post to welcome the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year holidays in the lobby of Terminal 1 (T1).

He said, according to directions from the Ministry of Transportation, the Integrated Air Transport Command Post for Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024 to monitor and ensure the flow of aircraft, passengers, and goods movements during the Christmas and New Year holidays, runs safely, orderly, comfortably and smoothly.

The estimated peak movement of aircraft and Christmas holiday passengers is expected to occur on December 22, 2023, with an estimated number of airplane passengers arriving and traveling through Juanda International Airport on that day as many as 56,391 passengers consisting of a domestic route of 46,089 passengers and an international route of 10,302 passengers.

"As for the submission of additional flights, the airport has received submissions from six airlines with a total of 187 flights consisting of airlines, namely Garuda Indonesia 24 flights, Citilink 48 flights, Air Asia 64 flights, Lion Air 39 flights, Batik 6 flights and Nam Air 6 flights. "When compared to the Nataru Post last year period, we estimate that there will be an increase in the number of aircraft and passenger movements because the current traffic conditions have begun to approach normal conditions as before the pandemic," he said.

The peak of passenger movements is predicted to occur on December 22, 2023, and December 29, 2003 and anticipatory steps are needed, among others, by conducting a series of coordinations with relevant agencies to determine services to service users during the postal period.

"This is to ensure that all airport service users can travel safely, orderly, comfortably and smoothly," he said.
