Deputy Chairperson Of The KPK Alexander Marwata Refuses To Be A Witness Relieve Firli Bahuri
Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Alexander Marwata is said to have refused to provide testimony as a mitigating witness for the suspect Firli Bahuri in the alleged extortion case against the former Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo.
Alexander Marwata's decision to refuse to testify was conveyed to Polda Metro Jaya investigators through the KPK Legal Bureau.
"In the letter we received this afternoon, brother Alex Mawarta, Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian KPK leadership, refused to be made a de charge witness by the FB suspect," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak, to reporters, Tuesday, December 19.
Alexander Marwata was originally scheduled to provide testimony as a witness on Thursday, December 14. The examination plan against him was a request from Firli Bahuri.
However, the examination of the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK was canceled. This is because Alexander Marwata must testify at the pretrial hearing at the South Jakarta District Court.
"It didn't happen (the examination) because this morning or this afternoon Mr. AM was proposed by brother FB to be a witness and was present at the pretrial hearing at the South Jakarta District Court," said Karo Penmas, Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan.
