Carrying Out An Emission-Free Area, Jokowi Attends The AZEC Summit In Tokyo Japan,

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo continued his third-day working visit activities in Tokyo, Japan, by attending the Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC) Summit at the Japanese Prime Minister's Office (PM), Monday, December 18. Based on a written statement quoted by ANTARA in Jakarta, President Jokowi arrived at the Japanese PM's Office at around 10.05 local time and was immediately greeted by PM Fumio Kishida. Furthermore, the two leaders of the country conducted a joint photo session before going to the photo location with other country leaders. While walking, Jokowi and Kishida seemed to be having a warm conversation. Jokowi, Kishida, and a number of other countries leaders then carried out a photo session together. In the formation of the photo, Jokowi stood between Kishida and Singaporean PM Lee Hsien Loong. After the joint photo, the leaders of the countries present at the AZEC Summit went to the meeting room. The AZEC summit was the first to be launched during the G20 Summit in Bali in 2022. In the summit attended by Japan, Australia, and the ASEAN member countries, Indonesia put forward the spirit of inclusive collaboration in order to realize the emission-free region.

Also accompanying Jokowi at the AZEC Summit were Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and Indonesian Ambassador to Japan Heri Akhmadi. Previously, Retno Marsudi said that Jokowi would have lunch with businessmen from Japan. Then, together with other ASEAN leaders, Jokowi is scheduled to make an honorary visit to the Japanese Emperor Naruhito.
