Thousands of personnel were deployed to provide security in four provinces that are the tasks of the Papuan Police.
"The personnel deployed were not only from the TNI-Polri as well as from other units," said Papua Police Chief Inspector General Pol Mathius Fakhiri in Jayapura, confiscated Friday, December 15.
In addition to the implementation of the Christmas celebration which will be held on December 24 evening and New Year's Eve, his party will also involve youth organizations, especially non-Kristen, to help protect churches.
This is done so that Christians can carry out worship safely while at the same time realizing tolerance between religious believers.
"Members involved in security during Christmas and New Year are members of the 2023 Cartenz Candle Operations Task Force and the assignment place arrangements are handed over to the Papua Police Ops Bureau," said Fakhiri.
