Chevrolet Equinox EV Begins To Enter Early Production Period In 2024

JAKARTA - Chevrolet Equinox EV entered production at the Ramos Arizpe General Motors plant in Mexico in the first quarter of next year which was originally expected to start in the fourth quarter of this year.

Quoted from the InsideEVs page, Friday, December 15, this was revealed by Francisco Garza, President and CEO of GM Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.

He also revealed that the compact SUV was the second assembled model in the country, after the▁terbitr EV started next quarter.

"For Chevrolet, we confirm the arrival of the EV Blazer produced at Ramos Arizpe, the first electric vehicle manufacturing site in our country. Chevrolet Equinox EV will also arrive in Mexico, and will begin production in the first quarter of this year. next year," Garza said.

He further said that his factory currently produces 200 Bahzer EVs a day in two shifts. However, when production of the Equinox EV starts early next year, production of electric vehicles is expected to increase significantly.

Earlier in late October, Mexico's GM Government Relations director, Rogelio Arzate, noted that workers at the assigned Ramos Arizpe location, in the production line of gas-powered Equinox, began training for the Equinox EV SUV assembly.

As is known later this electric car will be present in several trims, ranging from 1LT to 3RS which have various advantages.

Speaking of price, the SUV will go on sale from $34,995 for the base model, offering a range of 513 km for the Front Wheel Drive (FWD) model.
