JAKARTA - According to a new study, female DJs play performances twice as many as male DJs.

The study of music technology company A2D2, conducted using data from DJ Mag's Top 100, revealed that women may have to work twice as hard as men to achieve the same recognition as them.

A2D2 reports, although only 11 female artists appear on the list, they cover 40 percent of the 10 DJs with the hardest workers.

"Exploring further on the data, we identify that the average female DJ appears almost twice as harsh as the man on the list," reads A2D2 research.

The average number of shows for a male DJ is 13 in 2023, while the average female DJ is 23, the difference is quite large. This shows their determination to succeed in an industry that has historically been dominated by men," the report continued.

The data also determines that houses and techno are the most dominant genres in the UK during 2023. Meanwhile, the popularity of German and Belgian DJs has increased.

The music technology company said their analysis further identified the dominance of houses and techno in the UK EDM landscape because more than a third of the DJs analyzed specialize in these palpitated songs.

DJ and German producerse proved to be the most hard-working DJs in 2023 with 94 shows in 33 different countries, with an average set of one every four days.

This masked DJ speculates it will work with various DJs to play a lot of shows around the world at the same time.
