875 Bogor Police Personnel Secure Christmas-New Year, Priority In Puncak Area
The Bogor Resort Police involved 875 personnel to secure Christmas and New Year celebrations, especially in the Puncak area, Cisarua, Bogor Regency, West Java.
"We have deployed 875 personnel, all spread to congestion points, one of which is in Puncak," said Bogor Police Chief AKBP Rio Wahyu Anggoro as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, December 14.
Rio explained that the involvement of hundreds of police personnel was to anticipate traffic congestion at several points prone to congestion.
In addition to relying on Traffic Unit personnel, his party also collaborates with cross-agency agencies such as the TNI, Bogor Regency Government, to community organizations and youth.
"Later we will also discuss the traffic engineering. Such as security at the Puncak restaurant, whether it can later become a temporary shelter or what. It will be seen from the number of vehicles rising to Puncak," said Rio.
Security for Christmas and New Year celebrations in Bogor Regency will also be supported by the establishment of security posts for officers on guard.
"Therefore, we ask for the support of the entire community so that we can work together with all local governments and the TNI and Polri, we can work together to maintain the Pam Christmas-New Year well," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Bogor Police Traffic Unit, AKP Rizky Guntama, said that the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) of the National Police discussed the installation of a camera counting or vehicle counter cameras on the Puncak tourist route.
"I still don't know the concept yet. But it can be leaked in one month (camera counting) will be installed," said AKP Rizky.
According to him, the installation of this camera will assist the police in controlling the number of vehicles entering and leaving the Puncak route. However, AKP Rizky admitted that he did not know the location of the vehicle counter's camera installation.
"We don't know yet whether it was (installed) on the toll road or at the Gadog Police Post, or where it was installed, I don't know yet, but there has been a discourse there," he said.

AKP Rizky said the installation of the vehicle counter's camera would make it easier for the police to determine actions based on data on the number of vehicles entering and leaving the Puncak route.
This is because the tourist route, which is also a liaison between Bogor Regency and Cianjur Regency, is often crowded with vehicles from outside the city. Especially on weekends and long holidays.
Until now, the Bogor Police have only relied on data on Puncak Area vehicles through records of the Ciawi Toll Exit. However, this data cannot be used as a benchmark considering that the Ciawi Toll Exit is also crossed by vehicles heading to the Bocimi Toll Road.
"Hopefully, if there is (camera counting) it will make it easier for us to calculate how to act if the Puncak is jammed," said AKP Rizky.
