Former Head Of LHK Sabang City Sentenced To 4 Years In Prison In Corruption Case Of Land Acquisition
The Sabang District Attorney stated that the Supreme Court sentenced the former Head of the Sabang City Hygiene Environment Agency (Kadis LHK) Anas Farhaddin who was accused of corruption in land acquisition with a sentence of four years in prison.Head of the Intelligence Section of the Sabang District Attorney's Office Filman Ramadhan in Sabang, Thursday, said that in addition to imprisonment, the Supreme Court also sentenced the defendant Anas Farhaddin to pay a fine of Rp. 100 million with a substitute sentence of two months in prison."This decision granted the public prosecutor's cassation. Previously, the panel of judges at the Banda Aceh Corruption Court acquitted the defendant Anas Farhaddin. On this decision, the public prosecutor filed an appeal to the Supreme Court," said Ramadhan Filman as quoted by Antara, Thursday, December 14.In addition to the defendant Anas Farhuddin, he said, the Supreme Court also sentenced other defendants to the same case on behalf of Firdaus with a sentence of four years and six months in prison and a fine of Rp. 200 million, subsidiary to three months in prison.In addition to imprisonment and fines, the Supreme Court sentenced the defendant Firdaus to pay compensation for state losses of Rp. 1.4 billion. If the defendant does not pay, he will be sentenced to two years and six months in prison.The defendant Firdaus is the owner of land released by the Sabang City Government. Previously, the panel of judges at the Banda Aceh Corruption Court also acquitted the defendant Firdaus."The Supreme Court's decision states that the two defendants have been legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing a criminal act of corruption as regulated in Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 which was amended into Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the eradication of criminal acts of corruption in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code," he said.Filman Ramadhan menyebutkan majelis hakim dalam keputusannya menyatakan keduanya terbukti bersalah melakukan tindak pidana korupsi pembebasan tanah untuk tempat penumpungan akhir (TPA) sampah di Cot Abeuk, Kota Sabang, dengan luas mencapai 19,8 ribu meter persegi.The land acquisition budget is valued at IDR 4.85 billion in 2020. Based on the facts of the trial, it was found that there was evidence of price inflation, so that the state was harmed to reach IDR 1.4 billion.
"The public prosecutor of the Sabang District Attorney's Office immediately executed the verdict of the panel of judges at the cassation level after receiving a copy of the decision from the Supreme Court," said Ramadhan Film.
