PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) projects that the 2023 wholesales will grow positively compared to last year, based on sales from January to November 2023 which has reached 304,736 units, with a market share of 33.1 percent.

Although many new car manufacturers are present in Indonesia, Toyota has maintained a positive path with a market share of more than 30 percent over the past 5 years.

Toyota's Wholesales electric vehicle (xEV) for the period January to November 2023 also increased to 33,603 units with a market share of 54.3 percent, up more than 6 times from the same period in 2022. "We express our gratitude for the loyalty of customers who entrusted our products as a mobility solution, and also appreciate the government's efforts to build an increasingly conducive xEV climate. This has increased the popularity of Toyota's electrification vehicles, and people still trust Toyota as the main choice of mobility," said Vice President Director of PT. Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM), Henry Tanoto.

Furthermore, he stated that with the Multi-Pathway Strategy, Toyota will present more complete environmentally friendly products and according to the needs of the community. Toyota will also build an ecosystem that supports Toyota's xEV mobility, reinforced by collaboration with stakeholders to provide a sense of security.

In line with the spirit of "Let's Go Beyond", Toyota has launched 13 new models throughout 2023, including commercial models, GAZOO Racing, and electrification vehicle options, all of which have received positive responses from customers.

Especially for xEV, PT TAM officially launched the All New Yaris Cross HEV in May. This Hybrid EV received an extraordinary response thanks to its higher functionality, low emission, and increasingly affordable prices due to its local production with Kijang Innova Zenix HEV. The All New RAV4 GR Sport PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) as the most flexible xEV was also launched in August.

As of the end of November, total sales of four-wheeled vehicles in the national automotive market reached 920,518 units, slightly lower than the same period in 2022, namely 942,686 units. In the same period in 2023, Toyota recorded sales of more than 304 thousand units and Toyota's market share rose quite significantly from 31.6 percent to 33.1 percent.

The three largest contributors to Toyota sales for the January to November 2023 period include Kijang Innova with 57,618 units, Avanza 56,432 units, and Calya 41,683 units. "Toyota runs the Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050 program and the Indonesian Government's Net Zero Emission 2060 to create a cleaner environment by presenting various types of electrification technology. The launch of Kijang Innova Zenix HEV at the end of 2022 has succeeded in increasing our xEV sales, even dominating the Kijang Innova Zenix transaction," said Marketing Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM), Anton Jimmi Suwandy.

With the Total Mobility Solution vision, Toyota will complement Toyota Ecosystem so that customers can access electrification vehicle facilities and services easily and without worrying," concluded Anton Jimmi Suwandy.
