Delays Firli Bahuri's Ethics Session Today, KPK Council: Reported Must Attend

JAKARTA - The Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) stated that the inactive KPK chairman Firli Bahuri must attend the trial for alleged ethical violations which was held as the reported party. This was conveyed by KPK Dewas Member Syamsuddin Haris in response to the postponement of Firli's ethics hearing today, Thursday, December 13. The resignation of the Bhayangkara Corps cannot be present because it is being named a pretrial lawsuit after being named a suspect in the alleged extortion or acceptance of gratuities from former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo. "As reported, he must attend, Mr. FB must be present," said Syamsuddin to reporters, Thursday, December 13. Syamsuddin said that the KPK Council would later decide on the reschedule in a trial that remains open. But, he did not know whether or not Firli's request was complete.Dewas KPK only made sure to keep waiting for Firli's presence. Except for the absence of the presence for the umpteenth time without obvious reasons for example,'', he said. Furthermore, the KPK Council hopes that Firli can fulfill the summons for the future ethics trial. Because, they want the decision to be immediately knocked out so that it will not drag on. However this becomes a burden also for the Council, yes, hopefully this year will be completed. Before the end of the year can be completed,'' he said. Previously, the KPK Council agreed to try Firli related to the three alleged ethical violations he committed. The first is related to a meeting with former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo.

The two ethical violations committed by Firli also relate to LHKPN which is not true, including debt. Finally, an ethics trial will also be conducted related to the rental of a house on Jalan Kertanegara Number 46. Firli is suspected of violating Article 4 Paragraph 2 letter a or Article 4 paragraph 1 letter j and Article 8 of the KPK Council Regulation (Perdewas) Number 3 of 2021.
