ASEAN Foundation Collaborates with Huawei, Encourages Digital Transformation
JAKARTA - As an initiative to strengthen regional cooperation, the ASEAN Center for Energy (ACE) and the ASEAN Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Huawei on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.
This agreement is the first step to strengthen relations and open up opportunities for cooperation in key areas, including promoting energy efficiency, conservation and renewable energy.
Apart from that, this collaboration also underlines our shared commitment to ASEAN's sustainable development goals and empowering ASEAN's young generation through digital transformation initiatives.
"This collaboration with Huawei is a form of our shared commitment to sustainable energy practices in the ASEAN region," said Executive Director of the ASEAN Center for Energy Nuki Agya Utama.
By utilizing Huawei's technological expertise, Nuki added, ASEAN is committed to encouraging innovation and contributing to the targets set in the ASEAN Action Plan for Energy Cooperation (APAEC) Phase II: 2021 – 2025.
"Signing the MoU with Huawei is a strategic step to encourage our flagship program, ASEAN Seeds for the Future. "This collaboration opens up opportunities for young people in ASEAN to grow and develop in the digital landscape," added ASEAN Foundation Executive Director Piti Srisangnam.
