Selling Kebab, Dutch Citizen Deported From Palembang
PALEMBANG - The Immigration Office Class I of the Immigration Checkpoint (TPI) Palembang, South Sumatra (Sumsel) forcibly repatriated or deported a Dutch citizen (WNA) with the initials MAB for selling kebab food with a Turkish citizen who had a wife from Palembang.
"Today we deported MAB to its home country using regular flights from Palembang transiting in Jakarta and continued flights to the Netherlands on Wednesday (13/12)," said Head of the Class I Immigration Office of TPI Palembang, Mohammad Ridwan when giving a press statement on the 2023 performance. reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 12.
Based on the officer's examination of the Dutch citizen who holds the residence permit for the tourist visit, the person concerned is proven to have violated Article 122 letter A in conjunction with Article 75 paragraph (1) and paragraph (2) and (2) letters a, b, d, and f of Law No. 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration while his Turkish counterpart can still sell to support his wife who is a resident of the local city.
Based on the immigration rules, every foreigner who deliberately misuses or carries out activities that are not in accordance with the intent and purpose of granting the residence permit given to him will be subject to sanctions for immigration administrative action (TAK).
In accordance with this regulation, Immigration officials are authorized to carry out immigration administrative actions (TAK) against foreigners who are in Indonesian territory who carry out dangerous activities and should be suspected of endangering security and public order or not respecting / disobeying statutory regulations.
Immigration administrative actions as referred to in paragraph (1) can be included in the prevention or deterrence list.
Restrictions, changes, or cancellation of residence permits, prohibits them from being in one or more certain places in Indonesian territory, imposition of costs and/or deportations from Indonesian territory.
"Against these foreigners, we imposed immigration administrative measures in the form of deportation outside Indonesian territory and the person concerned was put on the deterrence list," said Ridwan.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Regional Office of the South Sumatra Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Ilham Djaya, emphasized that the deportation activity was a real commitment between his party and his staff in enforcing immigration law.
"Every foreigner who is in Indonesian territory must obey the law, for those who are proven to have violated the law, they will certainly be given strict action such as deportations made to the Dutch," he said.
The decisive action of the Palembang Immigration Office to deport Dutch citizens deserves appreciation.
"Supervision and prosecution of foreigners who violate the Immigration Law are encouraged to be further encouraged to synergize with relevant agencies who are members of the Foreigner Supervisory Team (Timpora)," said Kakanwil Ilham.
