PSSI Gives Good News About Justin Hubner Federation Move

JAKARTA - Justin Hubner officially became an Indonesian citizen (WNI) after completing the naturalization process.

His new status opens up great opportunities to be involved in the Indonesian national team in the 2023 Asian Cup.

However, Hubner still has to complete the transfer of federations from his home country, the Netherlands. Regarding that, PSSI gave good news.

Arya Sinulingga as a member of the PSSI Executive Committee (Exco) said the entire naturalization process of Justin Hubner had been completed. Now, he is just waiting for a correspondence from the Dutch Football Federation (KNVB).

The Hubner (Justin) has also been completed (naturalization process). Currently, we are just waiting for a letter from the leadership of the federation (KNVB) and a letter to FIFA. We (PSSI) have also sent a letter," said Arya Sinulingga in his statement on Monday, December 11, 2023.

Hubner has officially become an Indonesian citizen after taking the oath as an Indonesian citizen at the Regional Office (Kanwil) of the Indonesian Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Jakarta, on Wednesday 6 December 2023.

The 20-year-old centre-back is just waiting for the federation transfer process to be completed. Although the process has not been completed, the name Hubner has been added to the list of 50 Indonesian national team players submitted to the AFC.

The list is a player's roster for the 2023 Asian Cup. Hubner's participation in the player list has even been confirmed by the PSSI Secretary General (Sekjen), Yunus Nusi.

The presence of Hubner is expected to make the Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae-yong, able to formulate accurate tactics against Vietnam, Iraq, and Japan in the 2023 Asian Cup group phase.

The Indonesian national team will have 23 players in the 2023 Asian Cup. Prior to the deletion, as many as 30 Red-White Team players will undergo training camp (TC) in Turkey starting December 20, 2023.
