Carrying Unique Design, Mitsubishi Delica Mini Wins Award In Japan
JAKARTA - Mitsubishi won the Design Car of the Year award through its kei car model, Delica Mini, at the Japan Car of the Year 2023-2024.
This award is given for models with the best design, both in terms of exterior and interior.
Delica Mini, which is a tiny version of Mitsubishi's flagship minivan, Delica, has successfully combined a sturdy SUV style with a legacy interior and good driving performance.
In the committee's assessment, launching the company's website, Saturday, December 9, Delica Mini received high appreciation from the jury for having a funny and unique look, in contrast to the tough and stiff image attached to Mitsubishi cars in general.
This car carries the theme 'Daily Adventure' by combining three-dimensional 'Dynamic Shield' elements, namely expression, strength, and security. Half-circle front light with LED positional lights, a manufactureral emblem that stands out at the front and a baggage door, as well as a glossy black and front-bemper rim designed like a skid-plate, adds to Delica Mini's visual appeal.
Despite its mini size, this car has managed to attract consumer attention. Its monthly sales have more than doubled compared to the previous kei car, eK X Space.
Despite its small size, Delica Mini has functional cabin space for daily use. Mitsubishi provides a wide and comfortable interior space in the back seat, and equips this model with the MI-PILOT system for driver convenience.
