Juventus Targets Ex-Chelson Striker

JAKARTA - Juventus are eyeing RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner. The German forward briefly joined Chelsea before returning to Leipzig.

Juve are chasing forwards and Werner is one of the targets of this Italian Serie A club. Werner himself was brought in by Chelsea to sharpen the front line of the Blues in 2020.

Even Chelsea had to spend a lot of money, 53 million to buy it from Leipzig. But he failed to show his best performance.

During two seasons in the Premier League, Werner only scored 23 goals and made six assists from 89 matches. Chelsea returned to Leipzig at a lower price.

Returning to playing in the German Bundesliga, Werner actually had time to show his sharpness.

But this season, he has only scored two goals in 13 games. Muscle injury resulted in the 27-year-old striker unable to show his best performance.

However, Werner, whose contract only expires in 2026, is instead Juve's target. Moreover, Leipzig has no objection to releasing his players on loan.

Interestingly, despite the decline, Werner has become a fight for top clubs. Apart from Juve, it turns out that AC Milan is interested in bringing him.

Not only that, Manchester United has already targeted Werner even though until now there is no certainty.

Failure in the English Premier League has not dampened manager Erik ten Hag's plans to bring Werner. According to the plan, the player will be duetted with Rasmus Hojlund.

This makes the competition for Wener even more interesting. Because other Premier League clubs, such as West Ham United and Fulham, also want to recruit him.

However, Juve may have the opportunity to attract the football player not to be preceded by MU.
