PLN Completes Free Electricity Connection Program For 24 Thousand Households In West Java
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (KESDM) together with PT PLN (Persero) completed the 2023 New Electricity Installation Assistance (BPBL) program in West Java Province.
Symbolically, the implementation of the BPBL program was carried out by Deputy Chairman of Commission VII DPR RI Eddy Soeparno, Director General of Electricity at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Jisman P. Hutajulu, Director of Retail and Commerce of PLN Edi Srimulyanti, and Deputy Mayor of Bogor Dedie Abdu Rachim in Cimahpar Village, North Bogor District, Bogor City.
Deputy Chairman of Commission VII DPR RI Eddy Soeparno appreciated the hard work of the Government and PLN in providing access to electricity to the community. According to Eddy, this BPBL program is very important for the community, because the presence of the state can be felt directly by the community.
"In my opinion, this program is very important, because this program really touches the community. It opens up a new civilization and enlightens the community. It feels very changing, the impact is felt, people's empowerment also feel that they have another strength," said Eddy in a statement to the media, Saturday 9 December.
Meanwhile, the Director General of Electricity at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jisman P. Hutajulu, explained that the BPBL program is a manifestation of the state's presence to ensure that all people get access to electricity.
"Five years ago there were still 2.5 million people in Indonesia who did not get access to electricity. We together with PLN mapped and found solutions, it turns out that to be able to connect electricity to people's homes, especially in remote areas the budget is large. For that, through the support from Commission VII, we can realize it. This is very useful and we hope that next year, this program can continue," said Jisman.
Jisman said that by 2025 the target is for all people in Indonesia to get access to electricity. Access to electricity is able to encourage the interest in learning for school children, the economy of rural communities is also increasing so as to be able to encourage an increase in the welfare of the community.
PLN's Director of Commerce and Customer Management Edi Srimulyanti conveyed PLN's commitment to support the government in realizing fair energy throughout the country through equal distribution of electricity. The presence of PLN electricity through BPBL is expected to be able to encourage the wheels of the economy and improve people's lives.

Throughout 2023, PLN will run a free electricity continued program for 125,000 households in 32 provinces in Indonesia.
"To this day, Alhamdulillah, we have completely completed it, even reaching 105 percent of the target with a total of 131,600 households getting 24-hour electricity," explained Edi.
Especially for West Java, said Edi, there are 24 thousand households who have received this program, while for the city of Bogor there are 2,580 households.
Edi also explained that through this effort PLN implemented fair and equitable access to energy for all people in Indonesia. Through good electricity, it is hoped that it will be able to improve people's standard of living.
"In the future, PLN together with related partners and stakeholders will continue to join hands, synergize, collaborate and move together to carry out the noble task of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, namely the BPBL program," said Edi.
