Stellantis And Ample Establish Battery Exchange Technology Partnerships In Minutes

JAKARTA - Stellantis and Ample have entered into partnerships in electric vehicle battery charging technology (EV), which can produce fully charged batteries in less than five minutes.

The two partners have agreed to seek to integrate the Ample Modular Battery Exchange Solution on Stellantis electric vehicles. Where, allowing customers of electric vehicles that stop at battery exchange stations, can exchange the battery of their electric vehicle that has run out for those that are fully charged in a matter of minutes.

In addition, the two companies are also discussing the expansion of the implementation of the Ample Modular Battery Exchange Technology, to meet Stellantis fleets and consumer demand across other Stellantis platforms and regions.

"The partnership with Ample is another example of how Stellantis explores all means, which allows freedom of mobility for our electric vehicle customers," said Ricardo Stamatti, Senior Vice President of Stellantis, Charging & Energy Business Unit, quoted from Stellantis' official website, Saturday, December 9.

He further said the project had the opportunity to offer customers greater energy efficiency and without worrying.

"Efficient Stellantis electrification targets, a series of electric vehicles, and its leadership commitment, make Stellantis the perfect partner in achieving our goals," Khaled Hassounah, CEO of Ample said.

Modular Battery Exchange Solutions from Ample are designed to be fast and cost-effective, thereby minimizing time when electric vehicles are unusable, as well as related financial impacts, and Ample battery technology will be available to EV customers with subscription service bases.

The initial program is planned to start in Madrid, Spain in 2024, using 100 Fiat 500e fleets. As is known, the car is the highest-selling electric vehicle at Stellantis, sold globally and is the EV leader in various European markets.

This step is also the right thing for Stellantis to do, in order to achieve the goal of becoming a carbon-free company in 2038.

With Stellantis and Ample's cooperation in leveraging battery exchange technology, it means more and more vehicles will take advantage of the technology, including Nio.
