Jabodebek LRT Subsidy Disbursement 2023 Almost Touches IDR 120 Billion
JAKARTA - The Jabodebek LRT received a transportation subsidy disbursement of nearly Rp120 billion in 2023.
This subsidy is distributed through a public service obligation (PSO) scheme from the Ministry of Transportation to PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI.
The subsidy disbursement was stated in the signing of the Integrated Light Train (LRT) Subsidy Contracts in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi Regions in 2023.
Director General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation Risal Wasal said that the distribution of subsidies through the PSO scheme is an effort to encourage shifting people's mobility from private vehicles to mass transportation.
"Especially for the Jabodebek LRT, we have budgeted a Public Service Obligation (PSO) fund of Rp. 119,793,951,000.00 (nearly Rp. 120 billion) in 2023," said Risal in an official statement, Thursday, December 7.
For information, the amount of PSO is in accordance with the subsidy contract signed by the Director General of Risal and the President Director of PT KAI Didiek Hartantyo today, at Halim LRT Station, Jakarta.
