22 Schools Damaged Due To The Cianjur Rampung Earthquake Built, Disdikpora Calls No More Learning In Emergency Tents

JABAR - The Education, Youth and Sports Office (Disdikpora) of Cianjur Regency noted that as many as 22 damaged junior high schools were completed by the Ministry of PUPR.

Head of SMP Disdikpora Cianjur Helmi Halimudin said the study process for students in 18 schools was heavily damaged and four others moderately damaged due to the 2022 earthquake had returned to class.

"The construction of schools damaged by the earthquake was carried out by the Ministry of PUPR so that within a few months after the earthquake the building had been established and could be reused in the normal teaching and learning process," he said in Cianjur, West Java (West Java), Thursday, December 7, was confiscated by Antara.

The heavily damaged SMPN 1 Cugenang building and even almost flattened with the land has been rebuilt and inaugurated this week. Helmi also noted that no more junior high school students studied in emergency tents.

"For SMPN 1 Cugenang will be inaugurated this week, so that the total number of junior high school buildings damaged by the earthquake, since the last few months it has been rebuilt and all students have returned to study in class," he said.

Cianjur Regent Herman Suherman added that the damaged junior high school building outside the earthquake would still be a priority for development with assistance from various sources other than the 2024 Cianjur APBD, especially those that collapsed due to age and natural disasters.

Throughout 2023, there were more than 50 school buildings damaged by age and natural disasters spread throughout the Cianjur area, so that his party would provide gradual assistance to build the school next year.

"It has been allocated for the construction of a junior high school classroom damaged by natural disasters and weather eaten by age with a priority scale of more than two years. However, all of them will be given assistance for rebuilding gradually," he said.
