Google Overcomes Missing File Problems With Updating Google Drive Apps On Desktop
JAKARTA Some time ago the application version of Google Drive users on desktop complained about missing file problems. This problem was finally fixed by Google via an updated version.
Through the Google Help Center website, Google Drive Employee, Saitej, said that this problem could be prevented by updating the app. Make sure to replace the Drive app with version 84.0.0.0 to 84.0.4.0 to the latest version.
However, if you are a victim of a missing file, Google provides two methods that are considered to be able to recover files. These two methods are related to backup and command on the interface line.
First, users are required to update the application to the latest version, which is 85.0.13.0, according to the type of device system. Google presents different downloads for Windows and macOS systems so that you make sure the version you downloaded is correct.
After updating, open the application and click the Drive icon in the menu bar. Next, show the Recovery menu from Reserve by clicking the Settings menu while holding the Shift key on the keyboard.

When the Recovery menu from Reserve is clicked, you will see notifications such as recovery have been started or no backups have been found. If the file is still there, users can search for and recover the desired files.
Meanwhile, the second method is a recovery system with an interface command. Users who do not understand how to operate commands on their devices will not be able to use this method.
To view the help details with a clearer command, you can visit the Google Help Center website. This method is made especially for users who have account directory backups for desktops at other locations or want to recover files to specific locations.
