Tether Raup Untung Dari Investasi Bitcoin, Cuan Rp15,5 Triliun!

JAKARTA - Tether, the world's leading stablecoin publisher, announced a profit of more than $1 billion or around IDR 15.5 trillion from their investment in Bitcoin (BTC). Tether owns $2.4 billion worth of Bitcoin or around IDR 37.3 trillion, which is purchased for an average of 22,480 US dollars or around IDR 348.9 million per Bitcoin.

Tether, USDT's publisher, the largest stablecoin by market cap, is claimed to be 1:1 guaranteed by fiat currency reserves. USDT is used as a medium of exchange and a store of value on various crypto platforms, especially for margin and arbitrage trading. USDT is also one of the factors driving Bitcoin demand and prices.

An on-chain analyst known for his name on social media platform X named EmberCN, told his 64,000 followers that Tether currently has a total of 57,576 BTC, which is purchased for an average price of 22,480 US dollars per Bitcoin. Top crypto assets based on current market cap are trading for 44,061 US dollars or around Rp. 684.2 million at the time of writing this article and have increased by more than 5% in the last 24 hours.

Tether announced in May that it would regularly allocate up to 15% of the recognized net operating gains to buy BTC. EmberCN notes that Tether has purchased 4,083 BTC since the announcement.

Paolo Ardoino, Tether's new Chief Executive Officer, said at the time that the company's decision to invest in Bitcoin was based on the power and potential of investment.

"Bitcoin continues to prove its resilience and has emerged as a long-term store of value with substantial growth potential. Limited supply, decentralized nature, and widespread adoption have placed Bitcoin as a favorite choice among institutional and retail investors.

"Our investment in Bitcoin is not only to improve the performance of our portfolio, but also as a way to be in line with transformative technology that has the potential to change the way we do business and live life," said Paolo Ardoino. He previously served as Chief Technology Officer of Tether at the time of the announcement and was promoted to CEO in October.
